Frontier Co-op Aged Cascara Sagrada Bark comes from a deciduous tree that is most often found in the northern United States. Before Cascara Sagrada Bark is sold, it is stripped and aged for a year to oxidize its anthrone constituents.
The sweet and fruity flavor of this herb makes it a common ingredient in many beverages and numerous foods. The reddish-brown and woody appearance of cascara sagrada adds color to any dish. It is often used for decorative, culinary, and DIY purposes. Our cascara sagrada bark is 100% Kosher certified and non-irradiated.
