This is the highly respected coffee farm that exported Harar to the U.S.in the 1980’s. It is now operated Rashid Abdullahi, the nephew the farm’s founder, Mohamed Abdullahi Ogsadey but known internationally as MAO, and the coffee marketed as “Harar Horse”. This is truly a legacy coffee. Tasting notes from this morning: The first sip hinted of toasting bread, caramel and bakers chocolate, and evolving into cinnamon spice, vanilla, ripe apricot and more chocolate. Overall balanced with winey acidity.
